Fortress of Vernio
The building complex can be reached on a paved road that branches off from the state road coming from San Quirico, before entering the town of Sasseta. This road leads to the northern part of the castle, which had a door that was demolished in the postwar period, and of which there remain only the traces of the frame.
Abbey of S. Maria in Montepiano
The complex includes church and monastery and its origins date back to the eleventh century when it was in the hands of the Vallumbrosan monks. The current buildings are from the twelfth century.
Casone and Oratory of San Niccolo'
The Casone, originally residence of the Bardi's, liege lords, is now a municipal building.
Pieve of Saints Ippolito and Cassiano
Located near San Ippolito the Romanesque Pieve (country church) of Saints Ippolito and Cassiano was the most important church of the fief of Vernio.
Park of the Sun and Geometric Garden of the mill
Grassy clearing surrounded by trees at the centre of which there is the Sun, metallic enamelled sculpture donated by Bruno Saetti who had chosen Montepiano as place of life and work and right in the House of the Mill had found the ideal environment for his artistic growth.
